Pens & Pads are My Poetry...
"Poetry" may be a little bit extreme but it's not far off. I really do love stationery.....always have, always will. I have lots of early memories of requesting a new stationery set rather than an Easter egg and saving up all my holiday money just to buy a special edition pencil case set at Disney in Florida (it was amazing).
My love of stationery has only grown as an adult. I've got a horribly expensive addiction to Smythson, Mont Blanc, Kikki K and Muji and my home office desk is quite possibly my favourite space in our flat. When I was putting together my editorial calendar for Every Day in May and wanted to focus a week on Lifestyle, a stationery post seemed natural.
I've divided it up into three categories:
Journals and Notebooks
Pens, Pencils and Small Accessories
Organising and Desk accessories
I've picked pieces from a range of brands and price points and included both items that you would pick up for yourself as well as some special gift pieces.
So....let's get on with the stationery love! Enjoy....
Journals and Notebooks
Panama A4 Zip Writing Folder by Smythson £475.00
This is probably of of the most special and luxurious pieces in this post. I think there's something incredibly chic about a lifetime writing folder. My GMM at Harrods had this exact one in the classic Smythson blue and I always thought it was a great piece. You can keep documents and business cards in the various pockets on the left and your own notes in the notebook itself. Personally, I would use it for key meetings and use one pad per year.
Leather Dreams Notebook £40.00 by Choosing Keeping
This is one beautiful notebook for those looking to write down dreams, aspirations and goals. The quality of the paper is beautiful and available both lined or blank. The leather is soft and supple, only to improve with age and use.
Hibi Weekly Notebook in Pink £8.99 at Papersmiths
For those of you that enjoy a Sunday night planning for the week ahead then this is a great option. Simply laid out with the days of the week and blank spaces for you to insert your own dates, this is an easy to use planner that will also look great on your desk.
Leather Personal Planner (Large, Blue) by Kikki K £54.00
Kikki K is one of my favourite stationery brands. Created by Swedish-born Kristina Karlsson, the brand is all about goal setting, organisation and life planning. Very now! The Personal Planner is one of their best sellers. The diary pages are blank to allow you to create your own and it also includes handy sections including To Do List, Meeting Notes and General Notes plus 4 blank tabs with stickers so you can customise it to suit your lifestyle.
Leuchtturm Bullet Journal £19.95 at Foyles
I first read about the practice of bullet journaling at the end of last year and loved the idea of having an open journal that I could customise myself and manage my daily, monthly and annual activities in. I have so much buzzing around in my head all the time, this system is genius. Check out more about it here...
5 Pack A5 Notebooks by Muji £3.50
I have bought this pack of notebooks time and time again for as long as I can remember. Muji is one of those brands that everything is well-priced but of great quality. I like the fact that these pads all have different coloured tabs so I tend to use them for different subjects.
pens, pencils and small accessories
Organising and Desk Accessories
I hope you enjoyed my stationery edit. I have Smythson, Kikki K, Choosing Keeping, Muji and Present & Correct on my bookmarks for browsing when I feel the need. They all have amazing ranges so check them out my clicking the links below...
